About Marcus Luc
Magician Marcus Luc is a Sydney magician with parents of Italian and Mauritian heritage. Marcus’ journey in magic began at the age of 8, when he saw David Blaine take a homeless mans cup of coffee and turn it into a cup of dollar coins, in his television special “David Blaine – Street Magic”. Inspired by the miracle and the class of the Magician, Marcus went on to study Blaine relentlessly. Marcus would watch footage of Blaine for hours at a time and mimic his sleights to be able to do things like make a deck of cards vanish from inside a spectators hand.
Before delving into the art of magic, Marcus tested his dexterity by becoming a cardistry artist. Cardistry is a modern genre of magic that uses the artistic manipulation of playing cards into attention grabbing flourishes, shapes and patterns. After mastering 50 of the most knuckle busting moves including WARP, Flickr Shot and Riffle fan, Marcus invented his own move called the Revolver earning him a social media following of over 16,000 magic and cardistry lovers.
In 2012, Marcus was booked for his first gig by a local restaurant to perform at their annual Christmas party. With his excitement levels through the roof, Marcus sharpened and polished his sleight of hand and misdirection down to the millisecond, fooling every member of staff leaving them speechless. This success in his first gig landed Marcus weekly bookings at the restaurant for the next 2 years.
At the age of 18 after completing and achieving high in the HSC, Marcus entered the magic community as a full time professional magician and has performed on cruises, in dinner shows, for members of parliament and for corporate companies. Marcus’ specialty lies in close up/ roving magic, where he brings the magic out from his hands and into yours. His list of clientele is impressive, having performed for Subaru, St George Bank, Coca-Cola and Red Cross to name but a few.
Marcus Luc’s specialised roving routine and magic shows are available for Weddings, Birthdays, Bar and Bat Mitzvah, Corporate events, Trade Shows, Gala Dinners and all other events.
